this post is going to all newgroups so it is not an error.
i just tried to pull up a page from ziff-davis and when i refused to let
the
server 'set a cookie' the page stopped loading. it did this several
times and
the only way i got on the page was to trick the server by hitting reload
and
stop.
i believe the practice of 'setting cookies' is an insidious means of
gathering
information on people for the practice of selling lists.
and that this is a gross infringment of our civil right to privacy.
i am posting this to all newgroups in the hopes that i can gain support
from
the masses and with email, snail mail, telephone, whatever, that we
internet
users as a group can stop this deplorable means of stomping on our right
to
privacy.
i have already written email to ziff-davis, as well as infoseek,
expressing my
views. others, such as microsoft are guilty of this truly vile means of
invasion.
SO WAKE UP PEOPLE! TELL THESE USUPERS OF DECENCY JUST WHAT YOU FEEL
ABOUT THIS!
