Don't know which branch office of Telstra told you that, but I had two
T200s replaced free of charge, and I've heard quite a few others say the
same.

They know that .. you must have struck someone particularly obtuse at
Telstra.  Ask nicely if you might speak to his or her supervisor, thanks ..
