    Sounds to me like you have a com port setup inproperly. Although I'm
 not that familiar with Win95. I believe the com port setup is in the
 "Control Panel" under ports. Check to ensure that the port speed is set
 at, or above 33.6k. That should correct your problem, as it seems to
 function ok at the lower port speeds.
