Hello all!
I have some big dead echoareas. To save time and energy during tossing i set
those echos with the -nolink keyword out of the link process during normal
tossing.
If i start "hpt link test" i got:
3 11.10.46 test has nolink option, ignoring
This is the normal process because i don't want hpt to link this echo.
But if i need to link that echo for any reason one time there is no way to do
so without editing the areas config file before and after linking.
I'd like to have hpt link to ignore the -nolink parameter with some kind of
toggle, override, relink or force switch.
hpt link -force testecho
-force
Ignores the -nolink keyword of echoarea config
If there is already some kind of that function i would like to hear about it. I
haven't found anything like that for the link option.
So i have to edit the areas config every time i have need for that relink.
As i'm a little bit lazy i wish for that force switch - hoping it may useful
for others too.
If you want a relink of all echos you have to remove all -nolink keywords, link
all and insert the -nolink keywords again. This is my workaround so far, if it
may be useful for you, feel free to modifiy it to your needs.
Ups, sorry, while reading some docs i just added single echo support.
++++++++++++++++cat hptlink.force+++++++++++++++++++++++++
#!/bin/bash
echo "you must edit the areas lines in the script (below)"
echo "and remove this echo and the exit lines."
exit
## usage: hptlink.force # without echotag all is linked
## edit to your need
areas_config_file=/path_to/areas/configfile/areas
areas_config_backup=/path_to/areas/configfile/areas.withlink.`date +%s`
echo="$1"
[ -z "$1" ] && echo="\*"
cp $areas_config_file $areas_config_backup
sed s/-nolink\ // $areas_config_backup > $areas_config_file
hpt link $echo
cp $areas_config_backup $areas_config_file
rm $areas_config_backup

Kai
