NT>Greetings and felicitations Mr Commando sir,
NT> CC> But anyways. To stay on topic. Freeworld was written in QB45. But now
NT> CC> is coded for PDS 7.1. It uses QBSERIAL with my own door routines. One
NT> CC> thing i never could figure out was the backspace over the modem. So,
in
NT> CC> FREEWORLD(using PORTAL) u can't erase or backspace anything entered.
NT> CC> ACK! It was a pain to test and change, so i kinda gave up. Might even
NT> CC> be a simple fix. I dunno.
NT>When I was at college we had to write a simple asm program on an
NT>Atari ST and the only access we had to the screen was via VT100 codes.
NT>Now VT100 doesn't support backspace either but it was simple enpugh to
NT>overcome. What you have to do is is as follows:
NT> 1. Send the ANSI sequence for cursor left one place.
NT> 2. Send a space character.
NT> 3. Send another cursor left one place sequence.
NT>And you should now have successfully emulated issuing a simple
NT>backspace command. Don't forget to update your data while you're at
NT>it .
NT>Hope this helps.
NT>Byeee, Nigel.
Thanx for the reply.
I recieved some code via NETMAIL from someone who uses QBSERL.
Just a coupla lines i need to change.
Works like a charm now!
=:)
I've updated my door routines library and have a new version of
FREEWORLD that will be out soon.
