DB>VH>I used these years ago -- at the time, there were three of us Infantry
DB>VH>lieutenants sharing a house. One of my room mates was not my favorite
DB>VH>guy. I wondered what would happen if I shot him in the butt, and the
DB>VH>other room mate suggested a test shot at a plasticized room divider.
DB>VH>He looked at the hole in the divider and said "Well, ol' #$%#head's
ure
DB>VH>lucky we tested this thing first."
DB> ROTFLMAO!!!!
DB> That can happen with a solidly fixed backstop, but if a towel is
DB> only suspended from the top it just flops arround and absorbs
DB> the impact just fine.
DB> Most soft backstops are not penetrated by the plastic bullets so
DB> it might have made a difference depending on how big and soft
DB> the butt was.
This divider was a curtain-like affair -- it ran on tracks in the
ceiling and floor, and was made of some sort of vinyl-covered fabric. I
reckon it was held a little too rigidly. :-)
