If your Zip drive is an IDE, the new drivers should work. As for your backup
software, I don't know. You'd have to test it.
In case you didn't see one of my messages on this subject. The new drivers
(IBM1S506.ADD & IBMIDECD.FLT...plus a few other
files) seem to work as advertised. In a DOS session, a ^C after changing
cartridges allows the system to read the new drive. In and OS/2 session,
running EJECT X: (eject.exe is in the package, "X" is the drive letter)
results in an error, the eject failed, but OS/2 will read the new drive.
The only part not working is the automatic drive letter
assignment at bootup when no cartridge is in the drive. It's supposed to see
the drive, but doesn't. This may be a command line switch (not mentioned) or
a bug.
If you've got the IDE version, give it a whirl...
