| subject: | Re: problem with the `e` key |
It is too bad that your friend does not have an Apple II series computer, since this echo is forum is dedicated to supporting it rather than its successor, the Apple Macintosh. There are/were other echoes for Macintosh support. Oh well, I'll try my hand at this one anyway. I would guess that your friend's computer has had its Keyboard control panel set to some alternate language. Since you are in Zone 1, I wold also guess that the primary language that your friend desires is US English. This can be changed by selection the Apple menu, then selecting the Keyboard control panel. Finally, select U.S. in this control panel to set it. After doing this, see if the system works as expected. I do not know if a restart is needed for the new setting to take effect - that may depend upon the operating system version, and I have not played with the control panel.
