If it's actually a projection TV lens, it might be more useful as a fisheye
for some of those full-Milky-Way shots..

I took apart a large rear-projection TV and found that the plano-concave
element that contacts each of the 3 color CRTs had room to fit a camcorder
lens inside, yielding a nearly-180 degree view (I can see my shoes when
aiming straight ahead)
