Hi Ruth!
-=> Quoting Ruth Haffly to Wendy Buchanan <=-
RH> Well, today I had spools rolling all over the floor; I dropped my
RH> thread box. It wasn't too bad; last year I got a couple of tackle box
RH> inserts and transferred most of my spools to them. I only keep basic
RH> colors or ones that I'm currently using in the main box, maybe about 20
 RH> at most.
I dropped the bobbin box the other day when it was open and what
a mess!
I was wondering just how much the trouble with bobbins that a lot
of us have, has to do with the way they're wound. You know they
say to thread a needle with the thread as it comes off the spool,
and the bobbins are wound that way too, so it comes off the bobbin
just the opposite. Don't know what you could do about that except
re-wind every spool of thread just enough to wind the bobbin each
time--and that would be impossible! My brain must still be too
little to be allowed to wander alone, I have weird thoughts like
this all too often!
RH> Nope, one of us working for the government is enough. Besides, I've
RH> got those wedding dresses to do, no time for fun jobs.
ROTFL!

RH> That's one advantage of the military moves; we can only be packrats to
RH> a certain extent. Helps me keep a (bit of a) rein on my craft
 RH> supplies.
I don't suppose I'd be as tempted to buy it if I knew I'd have to
part with it during the next move if I didn't finish using it!
Might save us money but Tom's too old for the military! And
so am I!

RH> Yes, but had you not had the money, think of where you would be. The
RH> Lord will provide; He must have plans for Tom to build up a better
 RH> retirement fund.
Hope so. But we live thankfully, one day at a time here. It's
so great to have some money coming in, and we've been blessed
with what we needed along the way. Tom's moaned some about all
we had to pay in penalties for taking that IRA money out too
soon, plus all the income tax we had to pay on it, but it sure
did keep us going when we needed it, and that's the important
part.

RH> I did get most of one dress finished the other day and she's happier.
RH> She has been better about patience than her sister; Deborah has been a
RH> go getter from the start and doesn't like to wait for things.
Oh, so when *she* gets married are you going to be out of the
country when dressmaking time rolls around? Not nice,
am I? Mom said one time that I was the most impatient person
she ever knew...after Dad! So we knew where I got it! hehe
Mom hadn't met Tom at that time though. The man has almost no
patience with anyone but me and the Lord. Me because he has to,
and the Lord because he knows better than to try to rush HIM!
LadyBear Hugs,
Wendy
