Nice question! Since nobody really knows how reality works or
even what reality is or means, iïll take a guess from my point of
view. Occasionally I have these wonderfull moments where the
linearity of time doesnït seem important to me, Some enlightned
people, including Ramana Maharshi or Jiddu Krishnamurti maintain
that reality as we perceive it, is an illusion (maya). So is the
reincarnation process itself because itïs an abstract idea based
on solid assumptions about the nature of space, time, body, mind
and soul. For our consciousness time appears to be lineair, we
think in cause-effect, past-present and future. Modern physics
may have more sophisticated ideas about time, maybe even non-
lineair.. but they understand them purely in mathematical terms.
Theoretical physics and math isnït something that someone at the
moment can comprehend and integrate in his or her personal life,
it has no relation with it.
Ehm.. conclusion? Where was I going to? Well, it appears that
time can be lineair at one level and on another level be trans-
lineair AT THE SAME TIME (thatïs for the experience ofcourse, but
it may have itïs parallels in the ïobjectiveï world). The same
holds for reincarnation. So if you speak of reincarnation, you
speak of lineair time. And this excludes reincarnating into times
past.
Could it be that on one of those moments when feeling one with
the Kosmos, transcending subjective time, ego and ratio... you
simply ARE every past, present and future (?) incarnation?
But I assumed that there are only these 2 levels of reality. As
you all know there are lots more beyond or in between. Just my
thoughts...
