I see from your origin line that you connect to Darkzone, In this case you

should get a modem that connects best to the people you most likely be

Dialing, and also from what I hear about the lines in your part of the

country you should go for a USR Courier V34+ or if you cant afford that,

then a USR Sportster V.34+.



Anything less might cause you grief in your neck of the woods.



You can certianly do a lot lot worse, but it is hard to do better that a

Courier. 

You would not regret it, and it will see you though to the turn of the

century when a modem will be as useless as tits on a bull, due to the

fact that everything should be either cablemodem or terminal adaptor by then.
