I like MBSE BBS myself. Everything you need for connecting to fido
(or other FTN's) is included. Passing msgs/files between nodes just
happens (once setup) without any intervention. Compiles 32/64 bit
with ease. I find the BBS interface from the user perspective wanting
in some small ways. It's still being developed so that may improve
in time.
Synchronet is the best BBS package there is for nix & windows. You'll
need an external mailer (binkd works well) and if you want to do the
file thing a ticer of some sort. I haven't been able to compile it
on the 64 bit machine. It can be done but you'll need to get some
external peices and put them together, 32 bit compiles nicely.
I'm sure there are others but I have used both of the above and can
recommend either.
