It was trial news release to see what the Dem talking points would be -
predictably enough, when they think the capture may be imminent, it becomes
a "well he's not important, just a figurehead" point of view
compared to the "well why haven't you got him" ravings when they
don't perceive him being caught soon. So, now that they're on the record in
September as him not being important, they can't very well do the
"where is he" routine in October - not and be taken seriously
anyway.
