Hi Walter,
[Thus spake Walter Lim unto All:]

Surely you mean the .INF file for the modem. A lot of people think Win
95 requires a special driver for their modems but this is *not* true.
The truth is that virtually all modems do not need a special driver to
work under Windows 95 - COMM.DRV and other Win 95 TAPI stuff such as
UNIMODEM.VXD work fine. What you are probably looking for is the .INF
file which contains all the info that Win 95 needs to drive your modem
optimally e.g. AT commands, result strings etc.
Win 95 already has an .INF file for generic modem types with the
filename (\WINDOWS\INF\MDMGEN.INF). Picking one of the "standard modem
types" e.g. "28800 bps modem" when you install your modem under Win 95
might be all you need to do, especially if your Xtrum is a generic
Rockwell modem.
Alternatively, you can pick (when you Add New Hardware/Modem) a modem
which is very close to or exactly the same internally as your own modem
e.g. Spirit II owners should pick Digicom Scout Plus because these two
modems are identical.
Of course, the best approach would be to find a specific .INF file for
your modem (ask the manufacturer/distributor etc.), copy that to the
\WINDOWS\INF directory, and then install the modem by picking the
appropriate entry in the Add New Hardware/Modems dialog box.
Note that DOS and Win 3.x comms programs *bypass TAPI entirely*, so if
you use a DOS or Win 3.x terminal program, there's no need to look for
the .INF file for your modem.
