Thanks. I think I've got Quickcorrect turned off now. Indeed, I find it
insulting that it was turned on by default... what kind of maroon do they
think I am? :) But don't get me started on the topic of wp programs designed
by people who don't know how to type. I haven't used WPW enough to be able to
find all the switches, and most everybody I do stuff for these days wants it
in Word. If I had my druthers, I'd stick with WP5.1 (for initial drafts
anyhow) as it's fast, lets me mostly keep my hands on the keyboard, and never
once has given me a GPF.
One thing in Word's favor for your list... it seems to handle "art"
typography far better (multiple layers of overlapping stuff, some in
reverse); I've done several business cards/letterheads in Word that were
incredibly frustrating (and never did come out right) in WP. Of course, if
one spends much time doing that sort of thing, a proper drawing or dtp
program is a must, it's not what wp programs are intended for.
