I wish I'd saved the file, at least for the bill number.
Has anyone else heard about Owlgore's latest masterpiece? It would
appear he's pushed the "highway" in Information Highway so much that
there is a bill in the Senate to make it illegal to use alcohol while
on public networks? They even added a cute provision so that bbs's
would be included in this. The FBI would be able to wire-tap your
line to catch you, and evidently possession of a beer and a modem
would technically be all the probable cause needed.
So it would appear that you or I could be posting in the Rush echo
(I suppose the real "crime" would be when we were actually online
uploading in that case) and the FBI would break in to give us a MWI!

Then there is the part that would make it a felony to talk about
sex...I don't know how explicit it would have to be, but I'd imagine
Clinton's sex life would be plenty explicit enough. Ack!
By that token, unless we all stop talking about Clinton right now, I
think WE could all be future felony offenders according to the bill!
Unless it's just a huge joke, this bill is supposed to pass the
Senate within a month. Either way...considering just the idea--I
really do think Owlgore could be more dangerous than Clinton !
