Hi Robin!
-=> Quoting Robin Payton to Wendy Buchanan <=-
RP> Ruby Red? Sometimes they're sweeter than oranges, but the skin
RP> makes them bitter. I peel the covering from each slice and Jesse loves
 RP> them.
Maybe that's what I need to do. Tom had some Ruby Reds
which he loved. I could never keep grapefruit down, but
I haven't tried Ruby Red.
RP> I would really be interested in seeing that, or seeing a pattern.
RP> Is it something I could purchase around here, or by mail?
I can't recall where I saw it for sure but I will look at my
most recent pile of magazines and stuff, and see if I can find
that one. If I do, I'll just send it to you. If I make myself
one to keep in case I need one later, that should do it.

RP> instructor comes along with his piece and the brass instruments
RP> overblow, the drums just pound along, and it's like he has no feel for
RP> wind instruments at all. He also conducts the jazz band, and they are
Oh, one of those, huh? Nothing like a conducting blowhard,
I always say! We had one of those at my high school and while
I didn't play in the band, I couldn't sit through halftime
without squirming. He was such a pompous fool, and thought
everyone felt he was wonderful. He got a rude awakening when
they let him go after that one year. That was my sophomore
year and after that we had a wonderful conductor, very much
like your second instructor.
RP> And, I've been told that this man yells at the kids for no reason,
This man sounds like a musical idiot, and a real stuffed
shirt too. Who does he think he is, Arthur Fiedler?
 > I have to get busy and make myself some summer nightwear.
RP> What style of nightwear do you prefer that's cooler than a
RP> nightshirt? Middies and briefs? I get too warm in nightshirts, too,
RP> but could not stand anything constricting for sleep.
I have this older nightgown which has straps over the shoulders
which are about 2 1/2" wide, and a square yoke, not very wide
but it's really comfortable. The gown itself is gathered off
that yoke, but it still doesn't seem to have used a lot of
fabric. So maybe it wouldn't be too costly to make one or two
of those.
I need something with some bust fullness as I'm a large economy
size--44DD on top and I am quite "spread out" on the bottom these
days too. All those months of sitting in this chair didn't do
me a lot of good! I think I could do this gown without too
much trouble, and the original would serve as a pattern as it's
falling apart from too many washings, but still basically intact
enough to tell how it should be put together. Maybe I can
spray starch it enough to trace around, that would be the best
plan.
I have a couple of very short "skorts" which I got from the
"Just My Size" catalog, and I pair them with sleeveless tank
tops in thin knits for sleeping sometimes, but I prefer the
gowns most of the time. I think with all this cotton fabric
I got in the remnant bins at Wal-Mart, I ought to be able to
make a few nighties without buying any more fabric. They
may not look like nightgown materials, but they will do!
Good to experiment with anyhow, as I didn't pay much for 'em!
LadyBear Hugs,
Wendy
