Sounds ominous Keith.  Get with him is some secure way and establish a
NEW session password with him, and make sure he is operating in secure
mode.  You may have found one of the entry points! (In which case I may
award you a good conduct medal!)
EVERYBODY!  Pass the word around that links operating in an insecure way
are making this whole mess possible! I'd just asumed everybody WAS
secure, but you know what an assumption makes out of ME!  My NC tells me
that's the ONLY way packet rammers can gain entry.
