| subject: | ATM PLOP 36 point mirror cell design help needed |
From: Larry Sayre To: ATM Reply-To: Larry Sayre I've been using PLOP to try and design a mirror cell with less than 1.50e-6 mm maximum RMS error, and a 27 point cell simply will not reach this level for my thin 30" mirror. Since PLOP auto cell design does not handle beyond 27 points, and I can't figure out how to set it up for 36 points manually, I was wondering if someone with more knowledge in this matter could take my mirror specs and plug them into PLOP, then run it manually for a 36 point cell, allowing angles to vary, and allowing for refocus and mirror tilt, then forward the output to me as a file that I can then re-input into PLOP myself to recover the design and RMS output parameters. Here are my basic Newtonian mirror specs: diameter = 762mm thickness = 40mm material = 7740 Pyrex central obstruction = 127mm focal length = 3048mm Lawrence Sayre --- BBBS/NT v4.00 MP* Origin: Email Gate (1:379/1.100) SEEN-BY: 633/267 270 @PATH: 379/1 633/267 |
