My great great grandmother somewhere in the 1800's had 32 children ... poor
as a churchrat and every nine months it was "load-aim-fire".
There were 3 twins in-there plus a couple of still-births as well. She only
got married after her 12th pregnancy.
I have no idea how the sleeping/eating/pooping/peeing/fornicating
arrangements were worked-out, but via my grandmother I learned that there
was no real hunger and the children were always nicely clad.
She started popping at age 16 and after that was nearly continuous pregnant
for the rest of her life till her death at age 42.
Now THAT was a case of "Every Sperm Is Sacred" ...
