something wrong with your off-line reader Daniel?

 DM> Hi There...

DM> I recieved QuickLink with my Bansksia Voice Modem. I find it is the

 DM> an error.

Even *Microsoft's* very own "Windows 95 Fax Application" doesn't work in

Windows 95! The only comms program I've seen *working* (not crashing) in

Win95 is Netcomm's latest COOEE - and that only on a Pentium AND only when

*every* other program is shut down (so much for multitasking).

Getting back to your problem. Was this the DOS or Windows version of

Quicklink? I got both - the Windows version installed fine, initialized

the modem without any problems, totally hassle-free until I tried to USE it.

Then it refused to transmit *anything*, fax or data, except in TTY at 300

baud. As for receiving, well; it answered all, I mean ALL, incoming calls

with a very loud modem handshaking signal - very irritating to my friends &

relatives. And at the same time activating a General Protection Fault.

Turning off the modem was the only way to shut it up. At least the DOS

version is sort-of useable and will pay attention to

its '# of rings to answer phone' settings.

DM> (If anyone knows any good voice secretary Software, please netmail me)

Any attractive 18-20 year old with neat handwriting and a brain...? :)

cheers, Fraser
