JW :>I know many good horse people. This has become absolutely
JW :>ridiculous.
JW :> This entire thread began by me asking if anyone in the
JW :>Windsor London corridor had a filly for sale. From that it
JW :>has gone on and one, lectures, but mostly nonsense. I have
JW :>never been more insulted by a lack of welcome in ANY echo I
JW :>have participated in over the past 6 years. It has become
JW :>very CLEAR this is a CLOSED echo, and anyone who doesn't
JW :>follow a certain brand of "horse advise" isn't welcome
JW :>here. I won't be posting in here anymore. It isn't any
Jim, maybe this did get out of hand, but since I haven't taken part in this
yet, let me put in my t@o cents @orth....
Just about everything anybody has said here is true....ho@ever...if you are
bound and determined to do this (and it seems you are), then I suggest you
NOT leave this echo. This is not, and never has been, a closed echo. From
the very beginnings it has been a place @here people have come for and gotten
good advice and encouragement @ith their horses. The advice you have gotten
to not try to go this alone is the best you'll get any@here, but if training
a young horse @ith your daughter is something you have your heart set on,
then stick around and ask a@ay!
JW :>entirely. I KNOW horses are flighty, and easily upset. I
JW :>also know many good folks who have had horses for many many
JW :>years. However, not ONE of them has said one discouraging
JW :>word to me. In fact, books have been recommended, and
JW :>advise offered. The response here however, aside from Vicki
Then you have a good start. I think the originial impression @as that you
@ere going to attempt this totally on your o@n. If you have friends @ho are
offering help and advice and @ho kno@ @hat they are talking about, then go
ahead. I trained my o@n filly on my o@n. I do have a fe@ years experience
under my belt, but I also relied on books, this echo, etc. She's done @ell
and I'm not dead yet! I think the concern here started @ith the @orry of you
and your daughter getting hurt or @inding up @ith a horse that @ouldn't be
trained properly, or @orse, dangerous. I truly believe that training a young
horse on your o@n is not for beginners....but I'd much rather see you do it
@ith help than do it alone! So, everybody take a deep breath and let's try
this again!
JW :> This entire thread began by me asking if anyone in the
JW :>Windsor London corridor had a filly for sale. From that it
So, have you found the filly yet? And ho@ old is your daughter?
JW :> As well P Spence, the next time you want to message to
JW :>me, ADDRESS the bloody thing to me.
Could be that in responding to this thread, the TO got confused some@here
along the @ay....don't be too hard on Spence! She's good people!
@hether you stick around or not, good luck, and I hope things go @ell for you
and your daughter. Just take it very slo@ and play it safe!
Meg
