But what it all basically comes down to, is what you need and how
much you are prepared to pay for it. If money is no problem the USR
Courier is probably your best bet.

Well, i'm not real big on the the spirit company MBE, infact i'd be
understating it somewhat to be saying that.

Yeah, well I have one, and without sounding like an ad, it works
nicely. Conects to everything, doesn't drop out, works. I am quite
happy with it. (MyFastModem-V.34)

I haven't heard anything bad about them, and the price is nice. But I
wouldn't believe half of what I read about hardware recommendations
in a commercial magazine.

You could do better than $500 about $100 less than that if you looked
around.

Ok well, from what i've seen stay away from the ellcon, my friend
bought one and it couldn't detect dialtone from his house, and it
dropped carrier consantly. Still, that might be an older model.
Most modem makes these days have their act together, and basically if
you buy a modem and it isn't working as you would expect, complain,
and they should fix it.

Well, as I said I haven't heard anything bad about it, and i've seen
a few people commending them [shrug] price is ok, why not?!? ;)
