At work we battled a new group leader that insisted we turn our
computers off at night, including the VAX 780 (this was 1985). The
next day the 780 lost 3 of the 4 seven-platter disk drives; the
bearings shattered when the system was turned on. Never heard of
that before, group leader suspected sabatoge because of his mandate!
