You're right. It's like a broken computer, the reason to the user that it
isn't working is unimportant. But if your job is sysadmin and you have to
come up with a solution then the reason is all that matters because that's
going to dictate how you fix it.

And your right a second time, to the user the question is "can you fix
it" (can we adapt) and the answer from the sysadmin is going to be
"I'll let you know once I figure out what broke".
