There have been some very interesting articles written about the principle
that if you take a complex system (like Earth's weather), that there are
billions more ways to have a bad result than there are to have a good
result.

So, if you start out with something that current life is happy with, and
you make a change, it is likely that the change will result in something
that is NOT a good result for current life.

This is not an issue of comfort. We're talking about possible major changes
to food supply, not to mention what would result from millions of refugees.

There's plenty of reason to worry, but it is less clear what to do.
