Some modems like to get the Connect speed nice and high, if the lines will
support it or not. One of my users gets 21k6 V.fc to my courier but when he
calls the SimpleModem he gets 26k4 with EC, Followed by NO CARRIER after about
10-30 secs... I think the best idea is to connect a little Slower then speed
shift up. A Connect is better then NO CARRIER, REDIALING :)

Then you can have a 28k8 Connect with ERRORS and Resends while a 26k4
connect with LESS errors would be faster... The poor modems just have to know
when to drop back :) (Even though 28k8 sounds better, 26k4 would be FASTER)

 Cya!
