The earth has a fantastic correcting system. Too much CO2 warms the place
and creates a greenhouse where plants flourish taking the CO2 back out of
the air thus balancing things out.
We are part of that cycle, yes MAYBE we can imbalance it but we don't know
enough about it to balance it. IMO we know just enough to make us
dangerous.
Now that said, having less of an effect by producing less greenhouse gasses
may be a good decision, do no harm and all that. But at the same time how
we go about doing that may cause more harm. Switch over to a hydrogen
economy, well to do that we disassociate water into Oxygen and Hydrogen, do
where does the O go while we produce H? Into the air? Perhaps that creates
a worse problem?
If we use any energy other than the sun's, we imbalance the system, and
nobody is going to suggest we stop using energy. Replace Oil with Nuclear,
we still add energy to the system, etc.
