ZJ>Thanks. This place seems to have that small, easy-going
ZJ>atmosphere which I really like.
Yeah. Not as much traffic as QUIK_BAS, but quality stuff when it comes.
ZJ> > It has also produced some useful code that I will soon be
ZJ> > releasing as a commercial PB library called "MondoLib for PB."
ZJ>Sounds good -- when do you expect it'll be out?
In about a week.
ZJ>You might want to consider an overall PB book. Something
ZJ>that goes from the basics up through advanced stuff.
ZJ>Something like Tom Swan's Mastering Turbo Pascal.
Yeah, well, from start to finish covers a lot of territory. Maybe
intermediate to advanced. Assume a knowledge of most keywords and
constructs.
ZJ> > Now, how about you? What have YOU been up to? Do you still
ZJ> > work for the TELIX people?
ZJ>Well I went to work for the Telix guys and picked up Pascal while I
ZJ>was working with them. After spending a year in-house with
ZJ>them I moved back home with my family and continued to do
ZJ>support for them. Earlier this year they decided they
ZJ>wanted all support folks in house and since I didn't move
ZJ>back they let me go %^(. I'm now working for an ISP and am
ZJ>learning all sorts of stuff about unix, etc.
You must have an Internet address then! I tried zack@hom.net and a
nasty daemon sent it back all barfed on.
ZJ>I've written a few utilities for work so far and will soon
ZJ>rewrite our billing program which is written in QB and has
ZJ>lots of goto's %^). I'll convert that over to PB.
Sure!
ZJ>What I'd like write is a program which automates the
ZJ>process of getting my fido mail.
I sure know how THAT feels!
