Actually it didn't shift, the argument has always been is something
abnormal going on and that is still the question.
In other words if you look at temperature fluctuations with a 1 week time
scale, then the seasons suggest either global warming or global cooling is
happening, albeit seasonally..
The fluctuations in global temperature are not outside the norms from what
have happened in the past. So is it global warming, well that depends on
the timescale you use.
My logic has been and continues to be one of proof, show me science not
some proofless report from Dr Phil in bonefart university claiming that el
nino and global warming are going to kill us all.
Ice core measurements are a good start, but like I tried to point out, in
times of peak warming the ice is melting not forming so peak CO2 levels are
not recorded in the ice core. We need some other way to read the past. I
suggest looking at the fossil record to see where periods of peak plant
growth fall on the temperature and co2 timelines and perhaps some
calculations on how much co2 would be required to provide those levels of
plant growth. This is something that can be done from the fossil record.
Can you think of anything else besides ice cores and fossils that might
record co2 levels or the effects of co2 levels?
Geo. (I'm not saying we should do this, but the scientists trying to prove
or disprove the global warming theorys should certainly be trying this)
