I have never seen a reference as "(Western) European". If using an =
old ANSI application with font selection, many would identify fonts by =
the face name and script. Some Unicode apps still do this though I =
believe it is a bug. Look at WordPad for an example of this.

That's what I thought, but since he didn't mention IE or OE =
explicitly, I=20
thought maybe there was a general Windows setting somewhere that I =
wasn't=20
aware of. In any event, this is not referring to fonts.
It makes sense that there would not be a separate character set for =
each=20
country.
