Not when you see the flower, Bert. Okra has showy enough flowers to
put at the rear of a flower bed or border.
I have a couple of curly-leafed mallows 6 feet high in my garden,
that self-seeded from last year. The tiny mauve flowers are no bigger
than common mallow, but the curly-edged leaves get huge. They are so
bland I didn't know how to use them, but mallows (including
marshmallows) have a very mucilaginous property that the late Euell
Gibbons used as a binder. Somehow he made use of that property to
make chiffon pies w/o the use of egg whites or animal products
whatsoever. Until I learn what he did, I'm drying some leaves in my
dehydrator just in case. :-)
