Probably the first try would be to see if the surface could be made by the
evaporation or melting of the localized surface.  A warm air source could
evaporate a small part of the surface in short order as long as the
substrate is held cold enough.
Be an interesting thing to show off but I would suspect that the surface
wouldn't last long due to the normal sublimation of H2O with time. Bob May
