Well, with only a date, it's pretty difficult to know what movie you're 
talking about.  However, your other question is easy to answer.  No.  RA 
already had a firmly established TV career.  He played Clayton Endicott III 
in the comdey series Benson back in the mid 1980's.  RA's first real movie 
role, BTW, was M*A*S*H way back in 1970, when he played Father "Dago Red" 
Mulcahy.  Yet another M*A*S*H alumnus.
