I will risk something here, and assume that you mean 50 ohms instead of 500
ohms, as that's what scanners really want.
Anyway, using a 300-75 ohm converter will work just fine, as that small
mismatch won't make anywhere the difference the 300 to 50 ohm mismatch
will.
