HH> Resolution 96-12 has sparked much discussion on
HH> another blind related conference so I thought I'd
HH> see what others may think of it. Frankly, I think
HH> it is as Shakespeare said, "Much Ado About
HH> Nothing," and only further hurts our immage among
HH> dog guide users which is at an all time low after
HH> the October Braille Monitor and after Peggy Pinder-
HH> Elliott's comments at the Dog Guide Division
HH> meeting.
HH> I think it is an outrage that any group is expected to grease the
HH> N.F.B.'s palm in order to hold a networking
HH> breakfast, luncheon or for that matter any function
HH> for its own graduates or associates. Let's back
HH> off of this it is only hurting us.
Harvey:
I must disagree with you. The Seeing Eye showed a total disrespect for blind
persons by sneaking around a room full of blind people handing out something
they had been asked not to do.
The NFB convention is that, a NFB convention. As such, it is our duty and
responsibility to set the ground rules. Rooms cost us money and must be paid
for somehow.
