Hi Leona,

LP> ask them what they are doing, is that okay, and what they think will

Wonderful! You mentioned this as your new discipline plan, I'm
assuming this has been implemented throughout your school. Do you have
the discipline plan as a separate document or is it part of a school
handbook? I'd love to have a printed copy of this plan if you wouldn't
mind (via snail mail or fax depending on the size/length of it). I
can use it as an example for my college students to illustrate the
concepts of responsibility and accountability as well as providing it
to our own school district to consider.
PRC? I took a few stabs at that one but am not sure what it stands for.
LP> I suppose when I have a kid & am subjected to the nagging daily &
LP> all-year round, I, too, will succumb & buy their silence.
Heeheehee, I took this as somewhat tongue-in-cheek (not sure if you
intended it that way) but as the father of 4 girls (ages 6-16) I had to
chuckle when I read this. There are times when you'd think that mom
and pops have totally ruined our 16 year old's life and chance for
social progress by denying (repeatedly) her requests to extend curfew
and "do what everyone else is doing" :) (ROTFL--wiping a tear from my
eye) There is some degree of negotiation that happens just to preserve
your sanity, but it all goes back to letting 'em know early on that
that nagging and whining is considered inappropriate behavior and won't
be tolerated. Oops...getting off track here, this is the educator conf,
not parents! ;)
Oh well, I really would like a cy of your school's discipline plan, if
you could, my mailing address is: 2114 Broadway, Fargo ND 58102-5047 or
you can fax it to my office at (701) 231-2089. Better yet, if it is
available on the WWW, that would be great too.
Thanks very much,
Dale
