Hi Pete,

[Thus spake Peter Collis unto Sunny Leung:]

SL> THIS MODIFICATION IS NOT NEEDED ON THE SINGLE-BOARD MODEMS! The
SL> newer design uses a real mechanical relay, and it already has
 PC> ~~~ ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
SL> these 2 parts installed across the relay contacts.

PC> As my Courier is an Austel Approved one which is suppose to have the
PC> daughter board and yet it seems to have as quoted above "a real
PC> mechanical relay" as i can hear it click when the line is lifted and
PC> dropped, could the later Austel Couriers be the single board version?.

Short of opening the case and checking, there would be no way of knowing
for sure whether our Couriers need the caller-ID mod.

I do know my Courier clicks when it dials or hangs up, even when I do an
AT M0 (I think) before dialing.

Sunny
