-=> Quoting Tony Molina to Arthur Marsh <=- TM> G'day Arthur, TM> TM> Once upon a time, Arthur Marsh spoke thus to Tony Molina: AM> Some modems have retraining disabled by default (not a good idea), and AM> therefore V.32bis 14400 bps may work fine and V.34 with initial AM> connect at 28800 bps and retrains disabled may mean that (eventually) AM> the link disconnects. AM> Are retrains enabled at both ends of the link? TM> TM> I've emailed the sysop of Melb PC User BBS twice but have not TM> recieved a reply yet. I hope he knows what "retraining" means Hello Tony Prior to reading your message I logged on to Melbpc and downloaded a message packet. I checked and noted I had a 26400/26400 connection. I immediately forced a retrain from my end and got 28800/2800. Melbpc does have retraining anabled.
