AFAIK Gain matching of amps is not that important as long as you can control 
the gain on the amps or on the crossover...you are right about that one.
After all...a volume control IS a gain adjustment so there is nothing to 
worry about :)

Balance changing can't be done by mastervolume adjustment...or your system
