subject: `UNABLE TO TRAIN` FAX PROBLEM

This> something wrong with your off-line reader Daniel?

Sorta... more the BBS... :/ Gotta fix it..

Anyway HI...

This> Even *Microsoft's* very own "Windows 95 Fax Application" doesn't
This> work in Windows 95! The only comms program I've seen *working* (not
This> crashing) in Win95 is Netcomm's latest COOEE - and that only on a
This> Pentium AND only when *every* other program is shut down (so much
 This> for multitasking).

I actually heard its multithreading not multitasking... :/ Theres a list
somewhere of all the programs that don't work under it.... i guess
Quicklink may be one (Considering the list printed is about 2cm thick)
This> Getting back to your problem. Was this the DOS or Windows version
 This> of Quicklink?

Windows.

This> I got both - the Windows version installed fine,
This> initialized the modem without any problems, totally hassle-free
This> until I tried to USE it. Then it refused to transmit *anything*,
 This> fax or data, except in TTY at 300 baud. As for receiving, well;
This> it answered all, I mean ALL, incoming calls with a very loud modem
This> handshaking signal - very irritating to my friends & relatives.
This> And at the same time activating a General Protection Fault. Turning
This> off the modem was the only way to shut it up. At least the DOS
This> version is sort-of useable and will pay
This> attention to its '# of rings to answer phone' settings.

Yeah... well I gave up on it... couldn't even ring Banksia's Support .BBS
with it...

Anyway...
