 i started picking up programming books around '87. sometimes you were lucky
 and could get the source via a company bbs (i was able to do it...once) but
 for the most part  you were typing...

 if you couldn't touch type you were at a real disadvantage...to this day i'm
 glad i stuck out my typing course even though i was one of the only 2 guys
 in the class...
