There was an article in Mackintosh's ATMT where a weak acid solution was
used, presumably to dissolve out some of the components of a SF6(?)
corrector plate.  It produced an "antireflection-looking"
coating.

I ask if this was truly an antireflection coating (probably was, given the
reflection was of one color, passing the others) and if it created
roughness, dispersion, or other negative effects on the surface.

Hi !

Somebody here knows how it is possible to make chemical coating on glass ?
I know that it was the first way it was done in the 30's, maybe  thru an
acid attack...
