Arizona and New Mexico sound nice.  ...but so does Tahoe. :)
I don't know where I will go next year, but the kids are looking forward
to Lassen already.  This week or next we're going to start studying
volcanos and doing some science projects, in preparation for the trip...
though it has occurred to me that we may have to wait for next summer
due to the snows and end of tourist season.

It might be nice to thouroughly study the area /first/ and later go actually
see it.  We'd have a much better perspective on what we were looking at...

Yes, Mono Lake was a shock to me when I first saw it... I guess I had never
seen a picture and didn't know what to expect.
