      I have a 486(upgraded to speed) and got the same problems on
   the demo as he got in the full version. Enemies make it slow & jerky.
       I had assumed it was my chips didn't allow the higher speed but 
   perhaps I should also try the changes you mentioned before I give up 
   on the game completely?
      
... The trouble with reality is there's no background music.
