While listening to Damian Harden Pete heard:Modem Project G'day Damian DH> Thankyou for your reply. I do admit that I have a lot to learn DH> about comms but if i thought it would be this hard, I would DH> never have considered it! Anyway, I have narrowed the problem DH> down to the fact that when the modem connects to the other end DH> (after the "ATDT------" command), it is still listening to me DH> and not the other end (although a carrier signal has been DH> detected). I know this because I can still send my modem DH> commands after connection and no lights come on to show the DH> receiving of any data from the other end. This is strange as the modem should be in online state after it has connected, What happens if you issue AT&V do you get the modem config sent from the modem back to you. DH> My modem is a Netcomm Roadster 288 and the command ATO0 (Enter DH> on-line state), which I issue after a connection, causes the DH> modem to hang up and the connection is lost. When and how should DH> I issue the ATO command so as to instruct my modem to listen to DH> the other end and NOT ME. You shouldn't have to issue ATO unless your ending your dial string with a ';' which tells the modem to return to command state after dialing ie 'ATD635-6734;' DH> Thanks for all your help and I will keep to the topic (I'm DH> fairly new to all this BBS stuff, so bear with me!) from now on. DH> I have no more problems regarding the programming side of things DH> - just getting the modem to do what I want it to is the tricky DH> bit! don't know if i can help much more here but the best of luck with it. -=Pete=- --- OMX/Blue Wave v2.12* Origin: Gates of Hell (3:713/914.16) SEEN-BY: 50/99 78/0 620/243 623/630 624/300 625/100 711/401 409 410 413 430 SEEN-BY: 711/510 808 809 899 932 934 712/515 713/111 317 601 605 611 615 618 SEEN-BY: 713/620 676 700 888 914 714/906 800/1 7877/2809 @PATH: 713/914 615 888 711/808 809 934 |
