 Actually it's a problem with OS/2.  William Geiger pointed me in
 the direction of some new drivers and that should solve the
 problem.  My EZ135 is the internal IDE version.  The parallel
 port version does not have this problem.

I'm using basically the same program...CPBackup version 7.1 that came with 
version 7 of PCTools.  Is it handling the EA DATA file ok?  Have you had to 
restore one of the backups, and was it
successful?
Along the same lines, are you using the defragger (Compress)?
