Book price on the entire collection is about 50K-60K. I would want at least
40K for the entire collection. Some of the collection consists of rare or
highly desireable items, like Picture Discs (several hundred), colored vinyl
(several hundred again), and 1970's bootlegs (about 150). And much of the
collection is of rarer psychodelia, like from groups like the Chocolate
Watchband, Strawberry Alarm Clock, Ultimate Spinich, Moving Sidewark, 13th
Floor Elevators, Blues Magoos, etc. Also have a very nice Beatles
subcollection on VJ, Clarion, and other labels the Beatles early work was on.
Most valuable album is probably the original Soundtrack of Cinderfella in
four colors of vinyl, (only 20 made), or several sealed stereo copies of the
Beatles "Butcher Cover". And I have a very nice copy of Paul Revere & the
Raiders "Like Long Hair" on Gardena, with original shrink wrap still on it,
an exquisitely rare record. I could go on and on, but these are just a very
few of the jewels.
My rarest single is without question, the original VJ release of the Spaniels
"Baby It's You/Bounce" (VJ 101) in absolute prestine MINT condition. I also
have the VJ Beatles single with the Beatles spelled "Beattles". And I have
other singles that are extremely rare, like from the Honeys (wives of the
Beach boys), other singles by the Spaniels, R&B stuff like from the Orchids
(on Parrot Records) and much more. One of the records I get asked for all
the time - which is cool becasue it's so recent - is the Goosebumps
"Gilligans Island" single on Splash records - Gilligan's Island done to the
music of "Stairway To Heaven".
My rarest singles are far more rare than my rarest LPs, but it is only my LPs
I want to sell. My singles collection, some 2000 45s, will be buried in my
grave with me!
