If you're using FAT32 rather than NTFS, you could try to boot to a Win9x DOS
floppy, and manually delete them.

Or see if XP's Safe Mode lets you do that... to start up in Safe Mode, in the
RUN field, type MSCONFIG... go to the BOOT.INI tab, and select the Boot Option:
/SAFEBOOT
